The Wenge Core Cross is a good example of what that looks like in practice. Wenge is a dense, dark hardwood with a grain that’s almost graphic in its contrast. It doesn’t need embellishment. It just needs to be worked well and left to do what it does. A cross like this isn’t a decoration that gets swapped out when tastes change. It’s the kind of piece that ends up on a wall and stays there — through moves, through years, through generations.
