There are days when I am working on a project that it just feels like all my tools are eyeing me for a snack or something. I mean woodworking is cool and all, but let's be real about it. Pretty much everything that you use to make something has some major warning label on it from don't breath in the sawdust to keep your fingers, hands and toes clear of all sharp fast spinning objects.
I texted my wife once about the process I was going through to resaw a board on my table saw and from that point forward she pretty much said I don't want to know. Something about the "...high speed - death wheel spinning under your hand..." portion of the text she found a little unsettling. I mean if you think about it is totally one of those "here hold my beer..." type activities, right?
You know there are people that are like "I don't like sanding" and "sanding is the worst part of the process", but I am like I am cool with sanding. Typically the worst thing that might happen when you are sanding something is you get a small abrasion, and just rub some sawdust on it and keep right on going. Now that is assuming that you are wearing the proper face covering to keep from breathing in the sawdust.
I was talking to a fellow woodworker the other day and we were joking about all the stuff that you use to make stuff is well dangerous. But from his experience the things that he gets the most injuries from is the hand tools like the chisels and such. Again, just another "thing" that is constantly eyeing you for a snack. Yeah, sanding and finish work are probably the two safest aspects of woodworking.
Yes I know that woodworking can be and is perfectly safe as long as proper precautions are taken and the tools are setup right and you are using them correctly. And trust me I treat every tool like, well, it is eyeing me for a snack.
